Colour coded to prevent cross contamination, the green chopping board is used for the preparation of salad and fruit in the kitchens of hotels, restaurants and cafes.

Made in Britain Aplas plastic chopping boards are manufactured in our workshop from industrial grade polyethylene. They are flat, rigid, hardwearing and of course foodsafe and will far outlast similar looking LDPE boards.

Made from the same grade of material used by meat and poultry processors they will withstand serious chopping on a daily basis. And unlike the imports, they will not warp in the dishwasher.

Add the option of a juice groove to your board from as little as £1, simply tick the box when placing your order.

As with all our boards, we can custom make to any size to suit your requirements.

  • What is A Green Chopping Board Used For?

Green chopping boards are used to cut washed vegetables, including salad ingredients of the likes of peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes. They are used commonly in commercial and domestic kitchens to segregate vegetables from meats and other potential allergens.

  • Why do we Use Different Coloured Chopping Boards?

We use different coloured chopping boards in domestic and commercial kitchens to reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination between different food groups. Cross-contamination can lead to food poisoning and allergic reactions, which could be harmful to health or a risk to life depending on the severity of the reaction. We recommend designating green chopping boards for vegetables and using other coloured chopping boards for the preparation of the rest of your ingredients to avoid this eventuality.

  • Can There be Cross-Contamination Between Vegetables?

Yes! Cross-contamination doesn’t just apply to raw meats mixing with other types of ingredients. One of the most common vegetable allergies is an allergy to celery. Celery harbours a range of health benefits for most. But for some, the ingestion of celery can result in contact dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema, asthma and anaphylaxis. Because of this, it is vital to separate vegetables with green chopping boards.

  • How do You Properly Clean Green Chopping Boards?

We recommend using boiling water to kill any bacteria that may remain on the surface of your green chopping boards. This will help loosen and wash away food residue that may cause mould. You'll be pleased to know that our chopping boards are designed to be dishwasher safe and resist warping even when exposed to high temperatures for prolonged periods. So you can rest assured that your chopping boards will always be squeaky clean.
