Colour coded to prevent cross contamination, the yellow chopping board is used for the preparation of cooked meat in the kitchens of Hotels, restaurants and cafes.

Made in Britain Aplas plastic chopping boards are manufactured in our workshop from industrial grade polyethylene. They are flat, rigid, hardwearing and of course foodsafe and will far outlast similar looking LDPE boards.

Made from the same grade of material used by meat and poultry processors they will withstand serious chopping on a daily basis. And unlike the imports, they will not warp in the dishwasher.

Add the option of a juice groove to your board from as little as £1, simply tick the box when placing your order.

As with all our boards, we can custom make to any size to suit your requirements.

  • What Are Yellow Chopping Boards Used For?

Yellow chopping boards are used for preparing cooked meats, including beef, pork, poultry, and other non-oceanic animal produce. They can be found in many professional establishments to reduce the risk of cross-contamination between ingredients that otherwise could lead to serious illness.

  • Why do we Use Different Coloured Chopping Boards?

We use different coloured chopping boards to prevent cross-contamination. It should be noted that cross-contamination doesn’t refer to exposure to harmful bacteria, though. The term cross-contamination also applies to the transmittance of allergen residue that can cause severe allergic reactions. The standard colouring system states that yellow chopping boards should be used for preparing cooked meats only and that purple chopping boards should be used for allergens. But as long as you have a designated coloured chopping board for one group of ingredients each, you can reduce the risk of cross-contamination.

  • What is the Best Thickness for A Yellow Chopping Board?

There isn’t necessarily a “best thickness” when it comes to chopping boards. But here at Plastic Chopping Boards, we offer a range of thicknesses based on your requirements. Our thinnest commercial chopping boards begin at a thickness of 12mm and range up to 25mm.

  • How do You Properly Clean Yellow Chopping Boards?

To properly clean yellow chopping boards, you should apply boiling water to their surfaces. This will kill any bacteria that may still be present after use and prevent the likelihood of mould forming if the board isn’t cleaned properly. We ensure our boards are heat-resistant and can withstand boiling streams of water inside a dishwasher without warping. But if you’d rather clean your chopping boards by hand, we recommend wearing a pair of thick washing-up gloves, dousing your chopping board in boiling water, and scrubbing. This will kill the bacteria and remove the remaining residue.
