Colour coded to prevent cross contamination, the brown chopping board is used for the preparation of vegetables in the kitchens of Hotels, restaurants and cafes.

Made in Britain Aplas plastic chopping boards are manufactured in our workshop from industrial grade polyethylene. They are flat, rigid, hardwearing and of course foodsafe and will far outlast similar looking LDPE boards.

Made from the same grade of material used by meat and poultry processors they will withstand serious chopping on a daily basis. And unlike the imports, they will not warp in the dishwasher.

Add the option of a juice groove to your board from as little as £1, simply tick the box when placing your order.

As with all our boards, we can custom make to any size to suit your requirements.

  • How do You Properly Clean Brown Chopping Boards?

We recommend using boiling water to help loosen and wash away food dirt that can contaminate your next batch of food ingredients and maintain sanitation in the kitchen. Our chopping boards are designed to be dishwasher safe and resist warping even when exposed to high temperatures for prolonged periods.
  • Why do we Use Different Coloured Chopping Boards?

We use different coloured chopping boards to minimise the probability of cross-contamination between different food groups. Cross-contamination can lead to food poisoning and allergic reactions, which could be harmful to health or a risk to life depending on the severity of the reaction. We recommend designating brown chopping boards for root vegetables and using other coloured chopping boards for the preparation of the rest of your ingredients to avoid this eventuality.

  • What Are Brown Chopping Boards Used For?

Brown chopping boards are used for unwashed root vegetables that have been harvested from the soil. Until these vegetables are thoroughly washed and prepared, there may be dirt remaining in the folds of lettuce or the grooves of a carrot. So it’s important to keep your root vegetables separate from your other ingredients to prevent the spread of dirt around your kitchen.

  • Can Dirt Get Trapped on Brown Chopping boards?

Yes! If your current chopping board has been used for an extended period and has noticeable, deep scratches on the surface, dirt can get trapped in the scratches. So, if you need a new chopping board that won’t trap dirt even after cleaning, choose Plastic Chopping Boards as your supplier. Our boards are scratch-resistant and dishwasher-safe. So you can rest assured that your new chopping board will not collect dirt, nor will it warp in the dishwasher during deep cleaning.
